7 Victory Garden Posters
During World War II, Eleanor Roosevelt had a victory garden at the White House. The White House has a garden again.
Throughout World War I and World War II, the government encouraged U.S. citizens to contribute to the war effort by growing their own food. Below, I have collected seven promotional posters that were created during WWI or WWII.

On the last poster, look how she is holding the basket. All those ‘vitamins’ must not actually weigh very much!
Actually, if you look closely, you’ll see the basket is sitting on a stool.
Sir: Is it possible to get copies of these posters? A small group of friends in my small Cajun village are planning a community farmers’ market and having some of these posters around town would be wonderful. Linda Cooke
