American History in Video

Alexander Street Press has made a huge database of history videos available to the public. It has loads of old newsreels, documentaries, and other films. The videos are organized for browsing, and they have sychronized, searchable transcripts.
Many of the videos are from The History Channel, but I like watching the World War II newsreels from the 1940’s.
The free trial (no login and no password required) will last until April 30th, 2009.
