Holy Grail In America

Kensington Runestone

The History Channel has a new two-hour special called Holy Grail In America. The show premieres tonight (Sunday, September 20th) at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

The show speculates that the Knights Templar visited North America, and possibly brought their treasure along.

The clues include carved stones found in America, a stone tower in Rhode Island, and a fabled treasure buried on a Canadian island.

The Kensington Runestone takes up much of the program. It is a stone slab covered with runes that was found in Minnesota in 1898. It seems to describe a Scandinavian expedition in 1362. The stone has been debated ever since it was found, and dismissed as a hoax by many.

The film is interesting, and has lead me to look up many of the clues for information. I don’t get worked up about Holy Grail theories, but I do find the runestones interesting.
