The Lincoln Prize

Every year, Gettysburg College awards the Lincoln Prize to “the finest scholarly work in English on Abraham Lincoln, or the American Civil War soldier, or a subject relating to their era”.
For 2009, James M. McPherson and Craig L. Symonds won the award.
James M. McPherson wrote “Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief”.
Craig L. Symonds wrote “Lincoln and His Admirals: Abraham Lincoln, the U.S. Navy and the Civil War”.
